Whitbread Wanderbus is a registered not-for-profit community transport organisation run entirely by local volunteers. We provide accessible transport links for residents in Meppershall, Shefford, Stotfold, and neighbouring villages, giving regular access to local town centres, shops, and community group outings. Our routes are planned in conjunction with Central Bedfordshire Council to fill gaps in commercial bus networks, ensuring rural and isolated areas retain vital transport links without duplicating commercial operators.

Open to all passengers of any age. We accept National Concessionary Travel Passes and cash fares. Under the Government’s national fare cap scheme, no single cash journey will cost more than the capped fare, currently £3. Card payments are not yet available, but we expect to introduce them in Spring 2027.
Our drivers give you time to board and alight at your own pace, and there’s room on board for walking aids and shopping. For wheelchair-accessible transport, please contact Link-A-Ride on 01525 840511.
We don’t operate a hail-and-ride service. On the return journey you can ask your driver to set you down at any of the request stops along the route.
